Article: Man told gardai of rage and stabbing

A 19-YEAR-OLD man charged with murder told gardai that he flew into a rage when he saw his former girlfriend in bed with another man and that he began attacking him with a knife he found lying on a bedside locker.

Shane O'Riordan told gardai that he and his older brother Gerard (28) had gone to check on the then 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at about 2am on April 15th, 2007, after she didn't answer her phone when he rang her.

He had been going out with the girl for about eight months up to a few days earlier and they called around to her house where her nine-year-old brother let them in.
