Article: We know she's unlikely to walk through the door ..we need to find her to move on

THE family of a frail pensioner who went missing a year ago today said they had accepted she was dead but wanted to recover her body to hold a memorial service and remember her life.

Mary Ferns, known to relatives as May, has not been seen since she left her home in the Howden area of Livingston to go shopping on 17 June last year.

The 89-year-old was spotted on CCTV cameras in Princes Street on the same day, but has not been heard from since.

Mrs Ferns' stepdaughter Anne Foster said the family knew it was unlikely that she would be found alive, but appealed again for information that might give them "closure".

Mrs Ferns' husband Bill still prays for the return of his wife at church ...
