Article: Calling all golf carts ; Police follow evidence trail across Moila golf course

Police used a golf cart Friday to follow the evidence trail after vandals broke into a concession stand at the Moila Country Club overnight and allegedly stole candy.

The Moila staff didn't want a squad car driving around on the golf course, said Sgt. Billy Paul Miller, a St. Joseph Police Department officer. So, the officers improvised and used the golf cart, Mr. Miller said.

Officer Scott Vanover said police followed a trail of M&Ms, Skittles and empty candy boxes that led to an alley, where more candy led investigators to the back seat of a vehicle.
