Wearing an old-fashioned dress, Mae Boggs projects the very
essence of the pioneer spirit. So much so that the 73-year-old
Dunbar resident is the 2009 Kanawha County Belle.
The Kanawha County CEOS (Community Educational Outreach Services)
group selected her for the honor. CEOS clubs were formerly known as
Extension Homemakers' clubs
Although she lives in Dunbar, Boggs has been a member of the
Elkview CEOS Club for 36 years. She has served as vice president for
five years and also as president in the past.
Boggs represented Kanawha County at the West Virginia State Folk
Festival, which was held June 18 through June 21 in Glenville. Each
