Roundup: Nikkei plunges nearly 3 pct on renewed economic woes TOKYO, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Nikkei stock index plunged almost 3 percent Tuesday on renewed global economic woes, which already sent share prices in Wall Street down overnight.

The benchmark Nikkei-225 Stock Average index lost 276.66 points, or 2.82 percent, from Monday to 9,549.61.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 20.79 points, or 2.25 percent, to 901.69.

Stocks lost ground in almost all the TSE's 33 industrial sectors, led by securities, mining, textile and oil issues.
