Leonard W. Bender Leonard William Bender, 82, of Annapolis, died
of congestive heart failure June 22 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He was a lifetime resident of the area. He was born May 2, 1927, in
San Antonio, Texas, to the late Leonard Lewis Bender and Philomena
Juranek Bender. He retired from the civil service USNA as a planner
and estimator in 1985 after 36 years of service. He served in the
U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Hyman. He was a member of BPOE #622
Annapolis, the Fleet Reserve Annapolis and St. Margaret's Episcopal
Church in Annapolis, and was a former member of Crabtown Camping
Club. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening and travel. He is
survived by his wife, ...
