Our local cable company will likely to bring Web content to your television.

According to a Cable Digital News story, the Bethpage company will use a platform developed by ActiveVideo Networks Inc. to send Web-like applications to subscribers. ActiveVideo's system utilizes a central server that does most of the processing of the applications so the individual set-top boxes in customers' homes only have to run a small piece of software to play the content or applications. That's because these set-top boxes normally do not have much computing power.
