Article: Iraq war inquiry 'can blame who it likes' as Miliband caves in

A LONG-AWAITED inquiry into the Iraq war will be able to apportion blame after all, Foreign Secretary David Miliband conceded yesterday, after bowing to public pressure.

The government's climbdown came after the terms of the inquiry - initially planned to be held behind closed doors - triggered fury from relatives of the war dead. Labour MPs also threatened to rebel against the government in yesterday's Conservative-initiated debate on the inquiry, which attempted to change its terms.
