St. John gets BRAC building deal
Opus East, a cash-strapped Rockville-based commercial real estate
developer, has handed over control of a deal to build a 2 million-
square-foot office complex in Harford County to Baltimore-based St.
John Properties Inc. The U.S. Army, which oversees the federal Base
Realignment and Closure initiative at Aberdeen Proving Ground,
approved the transfer of development rights to St. John on June 19.
Aquarium gets a downgrade
For the second time this year, the National Aquarium in
Baltimore's bond rating has been downgraded by an investment
service, but attraction officials remain upbeat about the future.
