Gary Luther's entry into the realm of collecting children's
riding toys began with an unfortunate event that he says ended up
being "the best thing that happened to me."
The "best thing" for the Southwest Greensburg man was being laid
off from his longtime job at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh 13 years
ago.
"I was too young to retire, but I didn't want to commute to
Pittsburgh" for another job, he says. To earn some money, he started
selling what he calls "stuff" at the Flea Tique in Ligonier, which
offers dealers in antiques and other secondhand merchandise a place
