A volunteer with Wisconsin veterans organizations, Larry Smith
thought it would be relatively easy to get eight donated tickets for
veterans recently returned from Iraq and Afghanistan to attend the
Fourth of July Brewers-Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
The Pembine man, whose father suffers from post-traumatic stress
disorder from the Korean War, knew Major League Baseball is planning
a national "Welcome Back Veterans" campaign this Saturday at all
ballparks hosting games. He figured some Wisconsin veterans
suffering from the disorder would like to see the game.
