The Fourth of July weekend will be a three-day weekend for most
people, and there will be plenty of activities around the region to
fill it.
In fact, two cities will be starting the celebration as early as
Tuesday.
Here are some of the holiday events in northeast Kansas, starting
with the two largest:
Junction City
Grand Funk Railroad is the headliner for the Sundown Salute, the
state's largest and longest Fourth of July celebration.
The fun begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday when the carnival opens at 6th
and Jefferson in downtown Junction City.
On Wednesday, the music will be from Victory 8, Fort Riley's rock
band, and Edge of Forever, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band.
