POLICE searching for a teenage girl who went missing from social
services care were hampered in their inquiries by a Matson man,
Gloucester Crown Court was told.
John Withers, 34, refused to tell police where the 15-year-old
was when he was stopped in a car in Cheltenham, said prosecutor
Julian Kesner.
He spoke to her on his mobile phone as officers listened to him
warning her that the police were on her trail - then he fled from
police, Mr Kesner said.
Withers, of Redwell Road, Matson, was before the court for
