Martin Brake clinched the KBIS British novice regional
showjumping final with a cool and calculated performance on
Charlotte Baines' exciting young prospect AB Sport Horses Zippy at
Redpost, near Totnes.
"It was quite an eventful competition," said Martin, who is based
at Yeovil.
"Midway through our first jump-off, the stable cat jumped into
the arena and ran straight in front of us. It was a complete shocker
for me and my horse and I reckon the cat definitely used up one of
his nine lives.
"Fortunately we held it together and returned a clear round to go
through to the final jump-off."
