Plane lands safely at New York airport after bird strike

NEW YORK, June 30 (Xinhua) -- A plane landed safely at New York's LaGuardia Airport Tuesday morning after reporting a bird strike on its approach.

According to New York local TV channel NY1, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said American Airlines flight 1256 hit birds at an altitude of 900 feet (about 274 meters ) while nearing LaGuardia Airport.
