Surf's up at Half Moon Bay inn

Playing off the infamous Mavericks surf break, Half Moon Bay's new Inn at Mavericks opened last month on a bluff overlooking Pillar Point Harbor and the Pacific Ocean.

The Inn at Mavericks underwent a complete renovation at the former Harbor House in the small village of Princeton-by-the-Sea. It features six 500-square-foot guest rooms named after famous surf breaks. Each has panoramic views of the ocean and harbor, a private veranda, fireplace, sitting area and dining nook. Three rooms are pet-friendly with small fenced yards.

The inn is offering grand opening rates of $195 a night weekdays and $245 a night weekends. Details: www.inn atmavericks.com; 650- ...
