Thorverton's Nick Taverner will miss the next few weeks of the season after picking up a knee injury.

Taverner has been one of the D Division leaders' top batsmen so far this term, averaging more than 40.

But he now looks set to miss a number of matches with the injury, which skipper James Meredith admits could cause problems for his team in the coming weeks.

Meredith said: "It's a blow. Nick has been one of our most consistent batsmen this season, but his knee injury will keep him out for a few weeks.
