Sheboygan -- In 1950, when Leonard Nemschoff founded his company,
more than a dozen furniture companies operated in this manufacturing
center once known as "Chair City."
Today, Nemschoff Inc. is the only company that remains -- and it
has done much more than just survive.
In the past decade, the company has roughly tripled its sales,
with revenue topping $90 million last year. It also became one of
the top suppliers of furniture for the health care industry. And it
made itself into an attractive acquisition.
Last month, Herman Miller Inc., a furniture company whose
products can be found in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and
the Art Institute of Chicago, bought Nemschoff for cash and ...
