Palm trees, surfboards and Chuck Schafer's 1951 Woody welcomed
more than 250 guests to "California Dreamin'," the annual fashion
show of Assisteens, an auxiliary of Assistance League of Long Beach,
held May 9 at the Long Beach Marriott hotel.
Showtime began with the Beach Boys hit "Surfer Girl." The models
appeared wearing darling swimsuits from Diane's Beachwear, followed
by casual, career and evening wear. The creative and talented Kelli
Parsley returned as the show's popular producer with Danielle Martin
as her assistant.
Assistance League Life Member Marie Johnson returned as the
mentor for the annual event, the Assisteens' major self-improvement
program that builds leadership and ...
