Bangladesh's inflation surges slightly to 5.39 percent in May

DHAKA, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's inflation in May surged slightly from its April level to 5.39 percent as food prices soared in the South Asian country to some extent, official statistics showed.

According to the data of the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics ( BBS) released here on Sunday, the country's inflation went up by 0. 03 percentage points from April's 5.36 percent to 5.39 percent in May, while it was 7.44 percent in May a year ago.
