Article: DOZENS ATTEND JOB LOSS EVENT ; Redundancy 'drop-in' day to be repeated

MORE than 100 people attended a special redundancy 'drop-in' event to learn about how to survive losing their jobs.

The total included employees from companies including Princess Yachts, Kawasaki Precision Machinery, all of which have announced mass redundancies this year.

There were victims of job cuts at smaller firms too, and people who have not been made redundant - but fear the axe.

And they were keen to learn about training, and re-training opportunities, and how to start their own companies.

The Employment, Advice and Training Day, held at the Lower Guildhall yesterday is the second such event staged in the city this year.
