SAN FRANCISCO -- Barry Zito spent the first half of the season winning over skeptical Giants fans. Sunday, the left-hander gave his detractors fresh fodder.

Zito was in trouble almost immediately, allowing three runs before he recorded an out, and it never got better as he and the Giants stumbled into the All-Star break with a 10-4 loss to the last- place San Diego Padres.
