A local show with a twist takes the mickey out of reality TV,
writes Karen Tay . -------------------- COMEDIAN DAVE Fane spent 18
days in the Cook Islands recently. It was the perfect winter escape;
warm tropical breezes, fresh pawpaw and coconut, golden sand under
his feet, swimming in clear blue waters - but with a catch.
Fane and presenter Mikey Havoc were there to co-host the latest
local reality show to hit our screens, Island Wars.
New Zealanders have always had a great sense of humour and Island
Wars, described by Fane as a cross between Top Town and Survivor,
relentlessly takes the mickey out of the reality TV genre.
