Florence (Miller) Richman, the former Boston chapter president of
the nation's largest Jewish women's organization, died of cancer
Monday at the Seashore Point Wellness and Rehabilitation center in
Provincetown. She was 89.
Mrs. Richman, known as Flip, taught Jewish studies in Brighton,
New Bedford, and Newton, and owned a Jewish summer camp on Cape Cod
with her husband of 62 years.
She also dedicated much of her life to the Jewish women's
association Hadassah. In 1979, she became president of the volunteer
group's Boston chapter, which had more than 7,500 members at the
time, her family said. Her presidency ended in 1982, and she became
a national board member.
