WOOSTER -- The responsibility of bringing down one of the city's
historic buildings will fall on the shoulders of a contractor from
Cleveland, City Engineer Joel Montgomery announced Tuesday.
B&B Wrecking, which has previously taken down the former water
treatment plant on West Old Lincoln Way and several structures on
the former Timken Co. site submitted a winning bid of $509,308 to
raze the 130-year-old structure and do required foundation work.
A second company, GCS Industrial from Brimfield, submitted a
winning bid of $184,150 to complete the environmental abatement on
the building.
