Ray Fowler, one of the legends of Lincoln and Ellesmere rugby, passed away last Wednesday.

Ray, who was 79, was involved with Lincoln and Ellesmere rugby in various capacities between 1972 and 1991. In that time he was one of the best administrators and coaches that the club and the sub-union had ever had.

Current Lincoln coach and close friend Bob Kerr says that Ray 'was an absolute legend' and that 'he put his heart and soul into everything that he did'.

Ray, who was recognised for his service by being made a Life Member of both the Lincoln club and the Ellesmere Sub-Union, was also a journalist who used to report on matches for a local newspaper while assessing players for Ellesmere ...
