St. Louis -- President Barack Obama's recovery plan apparently didn't include a bailout of the National League.

The NL had been 4-0 when United States presidents threw out the ceremonial first pitch but Obama's appearance Tuesday night at Busch Stadium did nothing to stop the superiority of the American League in the All-Star Game.

The AL's unbeaten streak stretched to 13 games (12-0-1) with a come-from-behind, 4-3 victory that once again denied the NL home- field advantage in the World Series. It was the fourth consecutive year that the AL won by a single run but that only added to the NL's frustration.
