Blair urges Israel to improve West Bank living conditions

NABLUS, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Mideast envoy Tony Blair on Tuesday urged Israel to take more measures to improve the life of the Palestinians in the West Bank.

Blair, envoy of the International Quartet Middle East, added that the Israel must match its pledges to ease the quality of life for the Palestinians here with actions on the ground.

His remarks were made as he toured Nablus city in the north of the Israeli-occupied West Bank and met Palestinian businessmen there.

More than 630 Israeli checkpoints and roadblocks in the West Bank made it very hard for the Palestinians to move between the towns and villages there. ...
