Mexican police link state governor's brother to drug gang

MEXICO CITY, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Mexican police said Tuesday the brother of Michoacan's state governor has worked with a drug smuggling gang known as La Familia.

Julio Cesar Godoy Toscano, an elected deputy for the opposition Revolutionary Democratic Party and half-brother of state governor Leonel Godoy, works directly for La Familia crime boss Servando Gomez, Monte Alejandro Rubido Garcia, technical secretary for the National Security Council, told a press conference.
