Roundup: Hong Kong stocks surge 3.66 pct

HONG KONG, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong stocks surged 3.66 percent on Tuesday, with the benchmark Hang Seng Index advancing 631.1 points to close the session at 17,885.73.

With market sentiment boosted by overnight rally on Wall Street, the Hang Seng Index opened 2.19 percent higher at 17,631.67 and moved up before ending near the day high of 17,896.36 on turnover of 51 billion HK dollars.

Prior to Tuesday's robust gain, the benchmark index was at its lowest level since May 26 after several days of tumbling.

All 42 constituents of the benchmark index were higher, with financial stocks leading the gain.
