CHILD SAFETY-SEAT INSPECTIONS, police officers check the
condition and installation of safety seats, which are required for
children age 5 and younger and weighing up to 40 pounds. If a child
weighs more than 40 pounds and is younger than 6, he or she can be
transported in a booster seat using the vehicle's seat belt.
