Nigerian gov't reiterates commitment to peace in Niger Delta

LAGOS, July 15 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian federal government on Wednesday reiterated its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Niger Delta crisis in spite of Monday's attack on the Atlas Cove Jetty in Lagos by the militants, the News Agency of Nigeria reported.

Michael Aondoakaa, Nigeria's minister of Justice disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Abuja.

He said the action of the militants on Monday was diversionary and provocative even when efforts were on to release their leader jailed Henry Okah from prison custody.
