COLUMBUS -- After the battle he's been through, it's perhaps fitting that Gov. Ted Strickland is stopping at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base today, July 17.

There are plenty of space vehicles there to take him where none of the critics of the budget he's planning to sign today can find him.

Actually, Strickland is planning three stops in the Dayton area today, and he hopes to draw attention to one of the winners in the budget: elementary and secondary schools. Thanks to federal stimulus money, Ohio's public schools will see a 5.5 percent increase in funding during the next two years.
