Article: 'Matthew thought of others before himself and we will miss him'

TRIBUTES have been paid to a "kind-hearted and thoughtful" man whose body was found at the foot of cliffs by coastguards.

Matthew Hinton, 36, of Stoke Valley Road, Exeter, had been reported missing more than a week ago after attending a doctor's appointment.

Coastguards on a training exercise on the beach at Peak Hill, in Sidmouth, discovered a body on Sunday. It has now been positively identified as Matthew.

His brother Philip, 34, returned to Exeter from Japan with his wife and daughter a day after Matthew went missing.

Philip said: "Matthew will be missed by all his family and friends. He was such a kind-hearted man.
