Article: Firms bid for airport duty free

Four firms are bidding to take over the Pounds 20-million contract to run the duty-free shop at Bristol International Airport.

The Western Daily Press understands four companies - WDF, Aelia, Avonmouth firm Harding Brothers and incumbent The Nuance Group - have bid for the contract, which begins on November 1. Nuance has run the shop at the airport, which takes around Pounds 57,000 a day, since 2000.

But the airport revealed in February it would put the contract out for tender, for an initial five-year deal worth at least Pounds 100 million.
