Jackson Browne has settled a lawsuit and received an apology from
Senator John McCain and the Republican Party over use of his song
"Running on Empty" during last year's presidential campaign. The
settlement announced yesterday includes a pledge by the party not to
use any musicians' work without proper permission in future
campaigns. Financial details of the settlement were not announced.

Baldwin bankrupt
Actor Stephen Baldwin filed for bankruptcy in New York yesterday,
according to a court document. The 43-year-old actor filed for
Chapter 11 protection, claiming he owes more than $2.3 million and
