A Catholic priest in the United States has converted to
Anglicanism after being pictured cavorting with a woman. REBECCA
TODD looks at an age-old debate about celibacy in the Catholic
church. -------------------- Faced with deciding between his love
for a woman and love for the church, Rev Alberto Cutie, of Miami,
settled on the former.
Since being caught by paparazzi frolicking with a woman on a
Miami beach in May, Cutie - a well-known Catholic priest who
featured on radio and television shows - has become an Anglican and
married his 35-year-old girlfriend.
The scandal sparked a worldwide debate about whether Catholic
priests should have to be celibate.
