Article: Stimulus dollars to preserve Arts Council of New Orleans jobs

The Arts Council of New Orleans was selected Monday to receive a $250,000 grant from the National Endowment of the Arts as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The Arts Council is among 631 nonprofit arts organizations across the country awarded the one-time grant from the NEA to preserve jobs in the nonprofit arts sector that are in jeopardy because of the recent economic downturn.

In total, the NEA awarded $29.75 million, including almost $1.2 million to 13 arts organizations in Louisiana.
