Fox's decision not to carry the presidential news conference
Wednesday night at 7 has nothing to do with politics.
It's all business, as the broadcast network had already scheduled
a new two-hour edition of "So You Think You Can Dance," one of the
most successful summer "reality" shows.
In fact, the originally scheduled airtime for the news
conference, 8 p.m., would have meant NBC was going to stick with its
new edition of "America's Got Talent." That installment of the top-
rated summer "reality" show will feature a Meredith Vieira interview
with Susan Boyle, the biggest attempt so far to tie the show to the
Boyle phenomenon that got global attention for "Britain's Got
Talent."
