FOUR firms are bidding to take over the Pounds 20 million
contract to run the duty free shop at Bristol International Airport.
The Evening Post understands four companies - WDF, Aelia,
Avonmouth firm Harding Brothers and incumbent The Nuance Group -
have bid for the contract which begins on November 1. Nuance has run
the shop at the airport, which takes about Pounds 57,000 a day,
since 2000.
But the airport revealed in February it would put the contract
out for tender, for an initial five-year deal worth at least Pounds
100 million.
Harding Brothers, based in Avonmouth is seen as a front-runner
for the deal. It specialises in running duty-free shops on cruise
