PHOENIX -- Chad Tracy's pinch-homer capped a five-run seventh
inning Thursday, as the Arizona Diamondbacks overwhelmed the
Pirates, 11-4.
The winning rally came against relievers Evan Meek (1-1) and John
Grabow. However, manager John Russell did not put the blame solely
on the bullpen.
"We didn't pitch well all around," said Russell, noting that
starter Charlie Morton was unable to hold a 4-1 lead. "Charlie fell
behind too many hitters and the bullpen didn't respond like we have
in the past."
Morton allowed the Diamondbacks to tie the game in the fifth
inning. Arizona went ahead to stay in the seventh.
With one out, Mark Reynolds doubled to left off Meek. Miguel
Montero doubled to right, ...
