Article: Praise for response to bomb scare hoax

A COMMUNITY leader has praised the people of Brockworth for pulling together during a bomb scare.

When a suspicious package found in Lloyds TSB brought police cars, fire engines and the bomb squad racing into Brockworth on Wednesday, scores of residents and workers were evacuated.

But staff at Brockworth Community Centre were quick to open their doors during the incident, later found to be a hoax.

CHCI Parish council chairman Jim Hunt, said: "My staff were absolutely wonderful. They sprung into action as soon as we were notified, and even the lady who sometimes works in the kitchen dropped everything and came over to help."
