If you can't fight 'em, you might as well hug 'em.
That's the latest approach the city of Prosser is taking with
respect to its widely publicized profusion of marmots. Yes, that's
not a misprint. We are talking marmots here, those large furry
creatures that are generally referred to as ground squirrels and are
known to whistle to each other when in distress.
Prosser's love-hate relationship with these peripatetic creatures
has gone on for years. It's been a topic for newspapers around the
globe and grist for the blogosphere, where the critters have gained
a sort of rock star status.
