Ladysmith -- As a boy, Ed Tomasovich spent many hours looking backward.

Glancing over his shoulder, he watched the dirt spread apart into furrows underneath the John Deere No. 5 plow, pulled by the John Deere Model H tractor his father bought new in 1941 to use on their dairy farm near Tony.

Now 70, Tomasovich hasn't farmed in decades, but he has a garage full of antique plows he has refurbished. Pulled by the nostalgia of plowing his family's farm fields as a youngster, Tomasovich's collection has grown to 30 plows dating between 1900 and 1940, as well as five antique tractors.
