Ladysmith -- As a boy, Ed Tomasovich spent many hours looking
backward.
Glancing over his shoulder, he watched the dirt spread apart into
furrows underneath the John Deere No. 5 plow, pulled by the John
Deere Model H tractor his father bought new in 1941 to use on their
dairy farm near Tony.
Now 70, Tomasovich hasn't farmed in decades, but he has a garage
full of antique plows he has refurbished. Pulled by the nostalgia of
plowing his family's farm fields as a youngster, Tomasovich's
collection has grown to 30 plows dating between 1900 and 1940, as
well as five antique tractors.
The plows look like they did on the showroom floor, painted in
bright greens, yellows, reds and blues. They look ...
