HOLTON -- Bernie Clark sits in his office, among the dusty
catalogues, under the plaque that bears the flagship General Motors
logos -- Chevrolet, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac.
Once a symbol of company pride, the plaque is now largely reduced
to nostalgia. The Oldsmobiles are long gone, and Pontiac is on its
way out.
"We just have two left," Clark says, "and they're not going to
build any 2010s at all."
These have been tough times for local dealerships, obviously,
especially those selling GM cars. But as the company came out of
bankruptcy last week, the dealerships that were still standing found
