Eight Drivers Continue on to National Competition

BALTIMORE, July 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Thomas Shope, a driver for FedEx Ground, was named the top professional truck driver in Maryland after winning the twin trailer competition and receiving the highest overall score at the 2009 Maryland Truck Driving Championships. The annual event is sponsored by the Maryland Motor Truck Association.

Shope, who resides in Willow Hill, Pa., now qualifies to compete in the American Trucking Associations' National Truck Driving Championships from August 18-22, 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA. -- also known as the "Super Bowl of Safety." ...
