Dave Biddle of Yakima took up photography as a hobby for his retirement years.

His hobby is attracting some attention.

Online readers of MSNBC chose in a poll one of his photos of last year's Great Prosser Balloon Rally for the Web site's photo of the week.

His photo beat out hundreds of entries, he said. It earned 923 votes compared to 624 for the second-place entry.

Biddle, 64, retired in June from his job as the maintenance manager of Yakima Country Club.

He began photography about six years ago, looking forward to spending his retirement days taking pictures. He was ...
