Long Beach of yore is gone
I am a 70-year-old disabled person, so I don't get around much
anymore. I was born in Long Beach, and have many pleasant memories,
such as taking the Red Car downtown, going through the tunnel at
Pine and Ocean to the beach, relaxing and playing on the sands,
strolling through the Pike, riding the thrill-of-yourlife roller
coaster, admiring the beautiful building on the corner of Pine and
Ocean, strolling over to Rainbow Pier, watching the waves crash in
near the Breakers Hotel, strolling up Pine and window shopping at
all the wonderful stores, watching a movie at the Fox ... all are
gone.
