Artists Carol Mead and Terri Hill offer their views of Santa Cruz
in "Cruz'n, An Exhibit of Our Coast," a show opening Monday and
continuing through Sept. 4 at Viewpoints Gallery.
Mead, a plein air painter, is a Monterey native. Following
graduation from the University of California, Berkeley, with a major
in sculpture, she pursued a career in medical research that included
medical illustrating.
Mead is trained in a variety of media, including etching, pastel
and oil, but her concentration is in watercolor. She has painted
destinations around the globe, from China to Belize to Italy, but
her favorite subject is the coast of Northern California.
