Courage lacking
AS I watched the big sit-down Thursday of President Obama, Henry
Louis Gates Jr., James Crowley, and Vice President Biden, I thought
the only people I would like to have a beer with is the 911 caller,
Lucia Whalen, and Crowley's police colleague, Sergeant Leon Lashley.
These two courageous Americans have had to endure threats and
assaults on their character for taking a stand.
By supporting his fellow officer, Lashley, a black man, has been
accused of renouncing his heritage. Whalen, according to the 911
tapes, did not identify the race of the two men who were seen at
Gates's house. Yet, people, fueled by the media, went berserk
accusing her of being a racist without having ...
